Western Washington University Men's Rugby’s 2XV delivered an impressive road performance in Coquitlam, British Columbia, earning a hard-fought 41–34 victory over United RFC in a highly anticipated rematch from the fall. After previously falling to United, Western entered the contest prepared for a battle and immediately set the tone with composed, physical defense that disrupted United’s rhythm and established early momentum.
The Vikings built a commanding 36–10 lead behind cohesive team play and standout individual efforts. Evan Laman recorded his first try for Western, while Ned O’Brien directed the attack with confidence and control. Tavoi Faaloi proved electric with dynamic ball carries and resolute defense, and Charlie Hepp anchored the defensive effort with a series of low, technical tackles that limited United’s space.
United RFC mounted a strong second-half push to close the gap, but Western maintained composure in the final stages to secure the 41–34 victory. The result marked a meaningful step forward for the squad, showcasing growth, resilience, and the ability to close out a competitive match on the road.
