Alumni Game Weekend Is Almost Here: A Celebration of Champions

It's that time of year again. Alumni Game Weekend is back, and this year it carries extra weight. We're not just celebrating the bond between past and present Vikings, we're celebrating a National Championship.

Here's everything you need to know to make the most of the weekend.

Friday, May 29: Pre-Match Alumni Round-Up Courtesy of Joyco Digital

Kick things off Friday evening with the annual alumni round-up and meeting. (Location TBD — check back shortly for the confirmed venue.) This is a great chance to reconnect with old teammates, meet this year's squad, and get fired up for Saturday.

Saturday, May 30: Game Day Schedule

9:00 AM | Chuckanut 10s Tournament Begins

The day opens with the Chuckanut 10s Tournament at deWilde Polo & Rugby Fields. Keep an eye out for the special WRA entry team, WWU: Past, Present, and Future, a squad made up of alumni, current players, and incoming recruits. It's the program in one jersey.

10:00 AM | WRA Annual General Meeting (AGM)

During the tournament, the Western Rugby Alumni holds its Annual General Meeting at the Club House. We strongly encourage all alumni to attend. The AGM is your opportunity to hear directly about how the WRA supports the club, the scholarship programs, and the direction of the program for years to come. Your voice matters.

1:00 PM | The Fanfare Alumni Game 

The main event. Alumni take the pitch against current players in one of the most beloved traditions in WWU Rugby. The match will be live-streamed on YouTube, so share the link. Whether you're on the pitch or cheering from across the country, no one has to miss a moment.

4:30 PM | Post-Match Function at Kulshan Brewing Co. (K2 Location) Presented by Praxis PT and Madak

After the final whistle, we head to Kulshan Brewing Co.'s K2 location to celebrate. This year, there's a lot to celebrate. The post-match function honors the alumni game, the current team, coaches, and all supporters who helped bring home a national championship.

On the menu: Brisket and pulled pork.

• Non-Members: $25

Before dinner, we'll hold a raffle and present the Man of the Match awards. After dinner, the night continues at a to-be-announced location. Stay tuned.
