In 2015, Western Washington University will be holding its third annual rugby camp, July 5th thru the 8th.
After the success and growth of our Men’s Rugby program, the team has decided to provide their expertise to the area youth for instruction in rugby. Rugby is a sport that is growing in popularity and will be featured at the 2016 Olympic games. This has spawned new interest in the region and support for the Western Washington team has grown as they are currently ranked in the collegiate top 25 nationally.
The camp will be led by Paul Horne, WWU Men’s Rugby Club Director of Rugby, former Canada U-21 coach, and recent inductee into the BC Rugby Union Hall of Fame, and Adam Roberts, current WWU Men’s Rugby Club 7’s and backs coach and Canada U-18 Coach.
The WWU coaching staff and players look to provide an opportunity to attract high school players to the campus to participate and learn in a collegiate environment. This is a residential camp and will provide participants the opportunity to stay and live on campus for the week and to experience what it would be like to be going to school and playing for Western.
