Greetings Alumni, Friends, Family, and Community Supporters,

The Western Rugby Alumni are excited to extend an invitation to you to participate in the 6th Annual Blue & White Auction Dinner, to be held Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Holiday Inn & Suites at Bellingham Airport.

WWU Men’s Rugby club will be playing the Boise State University Broncos on campus earlier in the day. KO is 1:00PM.  Plan on making it a RUGBY DAY by attending the match in the afternoon and the Blue & White Dinner Auction in the evening.

This event raises money to support WWU Men’s Rugby Club. Travel expenses continue to be the biggest obstacle to overcome each season. The team just returned from the West Coast Rugby 7’s in San Francisco where they won the consolation round by beating UC Santa Barbara. Travel within the league is also a challenge with away games at WSU, Oregon and Boise State. WWU has qualified for the US Collegiate 7’s Championships May 18-20 in Denver. Travel expenses are real!

As with all the other club sports, WWU Men’s Rugby Club receives limited financial support from University, making this event critical for raising money to help the players cover the cost of travel, equipment, and other expenses.

The dinner auction will have in attendance alumni, community members, parents, friends, and those who support the goals of the Men’s Rugby program at WWU. Paul Horne, Emcee, auctioneer, Director of Rugby for WRA, and BC Rugby Union Hall of Fame member, always makes sure it is a lively and enjoyable evening, so please make plans to attend.

Here is how you can help:

— Please consider donating an item to the silent or live auction. These items can be donated from yourself, your employer, or a local business. Popular auction items in the past have included weekend get-away, rounds of golf, dinner/hotel packages, adventure excursions and much more. See attached donation form to complete,

— Please mark your calendar and plan to attend the event on February 24. As an attendee, you have the chance to meet the team members and purchase auction items to support them. Individual seats or tables are open for purchase for the dinner auction. Visit our website at www.wwurugby.org and click on the “Events” tab for additional details.

We greatly appreciate your consideration of a donation and/or attending the event. We look forward to supporting the WWU Men’s Rugby Club as they continue their education, play a team sport and put Western on the map as a school to attend for a first class education and fine rugby.
