The NCRC Divisional Playoffs take place this weekend in Cheney and Bellingham.
Eastern Washington University is hosting the NCRC East Division playoffs in Cheney, WA Saturday, April 6th with a match between the University of Washington Huskies (2nd place finishers in the NCRC West) and the University of Idaho Vandals (3rd place finishers in the NCRC East).
UW beat Idaho back in February in Seattle, 42 – 0, but the Vandals have shown steady improvement since then and were in the mix for the NCRC East lead going into the last weekend of the regular season.
The winner of that match will then play Eastern on Sunday, April 7th, with the winner then advancing to the NCRC Championship the next weekend, April 13th, at Magnuson Park in Seattle.
And a lot closer to home, Western will play host to the NCRC West Division playoffs in Bellingham.
Up first on the turf field north of the Wade King Rec Center will be a match between the Washington State Cougars (2nd in the NCRC East) and the University of Oregon Ducks (3rd in the NCRC West). Kick-off for that match will be 1:00 pm.
The Ducks traveled to Pullman back in late February and lost to the Cougars, 52-15, but just like Idaho, they have shown steady improvement as the season progressed.
The winner of the Cougar/Duck match on Saturday will then get the privilege of playing your WWU Men’s Rugby Club Vikings on Sunday, April 7th, with the winner advancing to the April 13th NCRC Championship match in Seattle.
Kick-off for the Sunday West Division Championship Match will be 1:00 pm.
Come out and support your team, the weather should be good and the rugby should be excellent! See you there…
