Latest From The NCRC

The President of the NCRC, Matt Hudson, goes to a lot of effort to collect, compile, and publish the stats that relate to the all that happens in the NCRC.  Matt is also the Director of Rugby and the Head Coach of the WSU program.  We thank him for his efforts…

With either only one or two games left for each of the teams in the regular season of the NCRC, four of the eight teams have clinched playoff spots no matter what happens in the last two weeks:

In the East, its Eastern and the University of Idaho, with the likely 3rd playoff spot to go to WSU who are 8 points clear of Boise State in the standings.

In the West, its Western Washington and the University of Washington.  The third playoff spot in the West is up for grabs as Oregon and Western Oregon are only separated by one point in the standings.  Oregon has two games left to play and Western Oregon has one game left.

First, here are the scores from last weekend’s action (Home Team in bold):

Saturday, March 3rd

UW 13 WSU 11
EWU 26 WOU 7
WWU 61 UI 5
BSU 36 UO 39

Sunday, March 4th

UI 29 WOU 20

Here is the latest from a bunch of interesting stats that appear on the NCRC Facebook page:

3 – WSU 24.2

NCRC Avg Points Against Per Game:

And finally, some scoring stats for the league, and that kid from Eastern, Eric Populus, is on fire, setting new NCRC Season Records for trys scored and points scored.  Populus is also Eastern’s kicker.  Good to see four Western players tied for second.  It is a good thing they didn’t keep stats like this in the early 70’s, WWU’s Larry Willman would have been insufferable.
